Have you been to see Xenophon: Almanac of Tomorrow at Science Gallery Dublin yet? If not, don't panic - In Case of Emergency is on until 11th February 2018. The Xenophon Project is a collaboration between artist Siobhan McGibbon and writer Maeve O'Lynn. However, in the case of the Almanac, this piece would not have been possible without the in-put of some incredible people that we would like to thank here. Firstly, all the staff at CÚRAM, NUI Galway. In particular: Dr Timothy Dubuc, Eleni Chrysostoumou, Rachel Ronan, Dr. Siti Ismail, Andrea Fitzpatrick and Professor Abhay Pandit. We would like to thank Science Foundation Ireland for their funding of this project, and, of course, Science Gallery Dublin for commissioning it.
Then Kenneth O'Regan, our phenomenal tech support artiste, responsible for the Almanac's mapping and the magic that brings each page from the future to life: there would be no Almanac of Tomorrow without you. Susan Davey, actor nonpareil and voice of the first iteration of Xenophon - you have brought Dr Mara O'Connor and the origin of the Xenothorpeans to life. Frank Murphy, peerless sound mixer, who took our rough cut audios and turned it into something magical for your auditory faculties. And of course to all Xeno family and friends who provided support and tea and patience with our apocalyptic prophesies as we worked on this piece. |
